When we wear a new pair of leather boots for the first time, We feel happy and Satisfied. But after some days, the boots start making squeaky sounds.

Noisy and squeaky boots are not a small annoyance. Over time, the continually loud noise starts to bother you. Don’t Worry you can easily solve the issue of your squeaky boots.

It’s easy to make boots quiet and stop them from squeaking. Here are some simple ways to fix your squeaky boot.

The things you need to fix the squeaking sound from your boots depend on the boots and why they’re making noise. But usually, you can use one of these 4 things to get it done:

  • Talcum powder or Baby powder
  • A sheet of sandpaper
  • A dryer sheet
  • Leather conditioner or Saddle soap.

Here’s a simple four-step guide to find and stop an annoying squeaking sound from the boot, No matter where it’s coming from.

Put on your boots and walk around a bit. While you’re walking, pay attention to any squeaks, creaks, groans, scuffs, or other sounds you don’t want. Try to find out from which part of the boot sound is coming.

Strange sounds from brand-new boots usually come from two parts of the boot. First is the Tongue (Part of the Boot), which can rub against the sides or the insole, and Second is the Ground you walk on might be too slippery or not grippy enough.

In the worst situation, you might find that the upper and lower parts of your boots are making squeaky noises when they rub together. Don’t worry, solving these issues is as simple as walking in the park.

If your examination shows that the meeting point of the tongue and upper part of the boot is causing the noise, Then take a bottle of talcum powder. If you have baby powder at home, then you can also use it because it also works like Talcum Powder.

Push the tongue of the boot toward the heel part (you may need to take it off to do this). Sprinkle a bit of powder on the top of the tongue, then rub it in using the flat part of your hand.

The ultra-fine particles will reduce the friction between the tongue and the sides, allowing the leather to bend and move quietly.

If your shoes are making noise from under the insole, using powder is a good solution. Take out the insoles, put some powder inside each boot, put the insoles back, and continue with your day.

Buy a bottle of leather conditioner or a safe oil for leather (Venetian and Bick 4 are both good choices).

Put a small amount of your Leather Conditioner on a clean and soft cloth, and rub it onto the leather with gentle, round movements. Make sure you have applied at every part of your shoes, like the tongue, sides, and the front and back parts.

Using oil or leather conditioner makes things less complex and get good results when you rub it on with your hand. Hopefully, the squeaky sound will disappear too.

The moisturizing things in the oil or leather conditioner will remove the stiffness from your squeaky boots. The squeaky sound will disappear when you apply Oil or Leather Conditioner on your boot.

Sometimes, shoes can make a squeaky sound when the Soles are too sticky or slippery.

To stop rubber sole boots from squeaking, start by using a dryer sheet. Rub it on the bottom of both boots. The material on the sheet will leave a little coating that helps in removing friction.

If that doesn’t work, your next good choice is to use sandpaper (It is better if the level of grit is lower). Gently move the sandpaper back and forth over the bottom of your shoes a few times, Be careful not to press too hard. Instead of wearing shoes too soon, You need to add texture to the material to improve grip.

After you finish, step into your boots and take another walk around. If the dryer sheet trick didn’t quiet the noise, The sandpaper method will do the job.

A bit of do-it-yourself fixing and that squeaky sound will be a thing of the past. If this article helped you in removing the strange sound of squeak from your boot, Please share it with your friends who love boots.

How long is the squeak of new boots?

Most boots stop making noise as they start to get more comfortable, but this doesn’t always happen quickly. Depending on how often you wear them, it might take days or even weeks for your boots to naturally become quieter.

Do these solutions also work on vegan boots?

Even though faux leather doesn’t absorb leather conditioners and oils because it’s not porous like real leather. Oils and Leather Conditioners lubricate the material and reduce annoying friction.

To make your vegan boots last longer, use a faux leather conditioner designed for vinyl, PVC, and other synthetic materials. These products have special ingredients that make the material smooth and give it a slippery feel.
